A MISSION ASSIGNMENT CHANGE ALERT 🚨

June 12, 2017

Woe you talk about scary.... so on Tuesday morning, as I was tryna

seek revelation in my study me and my comp feel the house 🏡 start to

shake...😲👐🏽👐🏽😇. We walk outside and the neighbor was like did

you feel that I was like "yeah"... she was like that was an earthquake

!! But I survived so that's all good.

An apostle of the Lord , Jesus Christ, is coming to our mission and he

will address us. Woe you talk about once in a lifetime opportunity...

when I go to shake his hand I'm probably gonna cry 😭 😭 not gonna

lie.

On Thursday we were walking to our apartment and we see this car 🚗

drive by, and start to throw eggs 🍳 at us. I thought it was so funny

because they missed lolz.

Also on a little sad note, they told us that they were shutting our

apartment down. This area is supper sketchy place, we live on the

border of two rival gangs and the block is hot 🔫🔥🔥. We live right

next to a trap house 🏡 that's jumping higher than Jordan right

now🤾🏾‍♂️⛹🏾.

Also referring to the title, so my mission assignment changed. I am

called to preach the gospel in the Spanish language  🇲🇽  🇬🇹 🇸🇻

🇨🇺 🇪🇸, woe you talk about a reality check, I'm gonna feel so

green. With the help of the lord I will be able to accomplish this

goal . I know the lord will help me it's gonna be hard, but I will go

and do the things that the lord commands.  Just like it says in the

Bible in "Philippians's 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which

strengthen me" ( S/O Marc). Alexis be prepared to speak Spanish

when I get back 💃🏼💃🏼💃🏼

A week from your beloved missionary

Hey y'all how is it going. This week has been good, but it kinda started off slow. So on Monday we were supposed to get paid but since it was a Memorial Day ( shout out to 'merica 🇺🇸) I guess salt lake was closed. You know me I ball on a budget ⛹🏽 💰💰 I had 37  cents on my card 💳 so I had to wait until the next day, so I can do the grocery shopping and stuff.  Tuesday and Wednesday were quite hectic. All our lessons fell through like the Cowboys 🐮 in the postseason 🏈🏈. And lately I have been finding quite rough to fall asleep, especially when our neighbors blast that new  🎶Gucci Mane 🔥🔥 and the speakers shake our apartment #brr ( they blast a wide variety of music 🎶 , man I got this stupid Spanish song stuck in my head, they had it on repeat). Well also our RC just moved to San Jose, (elder Stutz take care of my boy 👌🏽 ! ) but yeah we were sad to see him leave but this is the best thing for him.  Thursday was quite a refreshing day, we had Zone Conference for more than half the day. Its good sometimes to get off your feet and to just sit In a room and learn from our mission president. And after that we had dinner with Hermana Barrios (muchas gracisas Hermana Barrios La comidad  es muy rica 💃🏼) 

So in Friday we meet with my boy Lonell , the major gamer, 👾🎮🎮. And we had a lesson and it went really solid, so we felt inspired to give him a date. It's on the 16 of July so we got time to work out some stuff with him !!!!( he still wants me to give him the sticks, but I tell him he doesn't want it...maybe after the mission...  💪🏽💪🏽✊🏽)

That's all that basically happened. I love y'all ❤️ ❤️❤️.... I really do. (Shout out to anyone who reads this... I luv y'all)✊🏽✊🏽✊🏽

Day 300 ✅

"Never thought that I would ever make it this far" 300 days ago I

started out on this journey to help change people's lives, it's been

so awesome to see the changes I have made. The ups and downs I have

gone thru. #im300 . So to start week four of this transfer, I was

sicker than a dog. Holy cow 🐮 Man I thought I was coming close to an

end of my life! I woke up to start Pday with like 40 % percent of life

points! It was crazy! Even though I was sick I still put in that work

✊🏽✊🏽 🍴 , can't keep me inside the apartment while there is people

that still need his gospel on the streets!!!

Sometimes I have to bite my young because of the stuff that people

yell at us while we are on the streets, like on Saturday we were just

finishing up our night, we set a ton of return appointments and this

guy yells something really mean at us. This guy totally killed my

vibe.

Our friend Diane is so sweet ! Like I said earlier she has some

serious repenting that she has to do and I won't go into the details,

but she progressing really well .  I feel in the future she will make

a solid member in the church!

I also had the opportunity to give a talk in sacrament meeting. I did

really well on the talk. I didn't prepare it. I felt an impression to

let the spirit give the talk instead of me, so I just went with

impressions I got, and addressed the Ward. 😀🤙🏽

Man o man I love the mission! It's amazing 😉! I also love the savior,

Jesus Christ! His love is unmeasurable! He ask so little, and he gives

us so much! "He ask us to come however we are, to come with all of our

heartaches and mistakes" - city Harbor. And he will help us!

Stay hydrated. I'll be back next summer in that Texas heat, but im

going to enjoy this summer in this beautiful weather!

So this week has been good! We walk the streets and we see a lot of

birds 🐦 (I'm not talking about the ones that fly either)." We ran

into a white Hebrew Israelite ✊🏽✊🏽 he was just bashing on white

people, I was like dude..... Your white 😂😂😂 . I just wanted to neck

this guy.  Then as we were walking the streets we see this kid start

to run 🏃🏿 towards a group of other kids and he fresh cut (Smack

🖐🏽)  this dude with a running 🏃🏿 start. He was running as if he

were a character on Naruto. The faces of the people around the dude

were as if someone got dunked on, as if Blake Griffin was dunking on

D-league people ! #hewasntready. Idk but the people out here dress so

weird. The girls wear so much makeup 💄, I guess looking like an alien

is in style now 🤔🤔. I got cussed out by a five year old, but we

taught an awesome lesson to his mom! We also put some work in downtown

LA, supper sketchy place. But I love downtown, a lot of cool things!

Last PDAY we went to the Alley, its in the fashion district, but it's

like an outside flea market. It literally looks like Mexico 🇲🇽. We

also took an uber down to USC so.... uber everywhere! I saw this lady

start doing some weird dance on the bus  🚌 💃🏼 then she gets off on

the same stops as us and face plants into the ground she was on

something 💊  🍺 🚭❌

So this week we had the opportunity to meet with this guy Lonnell.

Lonnell is a major gamer! 👾👾 This guy games more than me on a summer

night! Brings back memories of the squad and I staying up till 2am to

clutch a 3:1 series of Search on COD✊🏽 (shout out Outlaw and Marc )!

Much respect for him ✊🏽,  I almost had to give him the sticks but I

refrained! 👌🏽

Diane is solid as every but we are about to take her on this

repentance process so it's gonna take a while but she is supper

awesome person!

We also taught a lady named Edna, she had the Lil yachty red hair, we

taught the lesson in Spanish! My comp is from Mexico so my Spanish is

improving, so I'm gonna ask president if I can learn Spanish!

We also held a fireside on missionary work. Some sisters and I gave a

training on how to help with the youth spread the gospel on Social

media!

I just love being a missionary and testifying of the lord. It's so

awesome, I really do get goosebumps. It's live.

I just hit a Three- Pete!!!We had a Baptism yesterday Of a young man

named Kiondre. I have had a Baptism every Sunday for the past three

weeks ! It is awesome 👏🏽. I think I'm Kobe ⛹🏾⛹🏾

So this week has been pretty interesting! So on Tuesday we meet with

the former elder Beck and he took my comp and I out to eat. It was an

amazing experience. Much respect ✊🏽✊🏽!!

Then on Wednesday we're walking and this JW tries to bash with us and

he was just trying to hard so we read him a scripture in the Bible and

walked away. The spirit of contention is from the devil, so I was just

walked away !!  So my trainer actually made a trip back to the CLAM

and he came and visited me #yeeyee !  We rode in a Camero with a

corvette engine soo... #yeeyee. The streets have been quite this week,

helicopters fly over our house sometimes at night but you know just

out here thriving and surviving !

So we have two people that we are working with Jose is the first guy!

He is supper awesome. He is reading the Book of Mormon which is really

great ! 🙌🏽🙌🏽 we even took him to the VC and the sisters over there

did an amazing job !!

The next person we are working with is Diane. She is an amazing person

and we had taught the Plan Of Salvation to here and she agreed with

it. We were going to set a baptismal date with her but she has to do

some serious repenting were gonna work with her!

Well that's all that happened today! I freaking love being out here

and teaching in the streets! My Spanish is getting better so you know

😏😏. It was so awesome to skype home !!

A Week In South Central 🙏🏽🙏🏽 - Part Two - A amazing miracle

May 8, 2017 

Well I survived this week. I'm in South Central, I thought LA was

ghetto..... nah South Central  is supper ghetto. I'm lowkey living in

little Mexico 🇲🇽. If I yelled "El Lote" I would stop traffic and

they would run my way 🏃🏿. Gang Life is pretty rough out here⛽️🅰️🆖

🔫🔫. I saw a project baby 👶🏽, the little homie was just walking the

streets like it was nothing. And we saw someone almost get shot. Yo we

took the train  🚂 all the way from Slauson to Pico and we saw some

dude geekin. This lady was praising Donald Trump in the streets of

south Central... I was like not a good idea fam. Cinco de mayo was lit

like always! 🔥🔥 Someone tried to purposely run me over but my

elusive skills are at like 98 so you know I dipped 🏃🏿. I still love

this area and we are gonna have a blast 💥💥💥💥  we are close to

downtown LA so we gonna be in the streets heavily! I'm gonna be

teaching all these goons and be really humbled! Its gonna be dope!

Since me and my comp are whitewashing it's been pretty confusing,  but

we still put in that work 🍴💪🏽✊🏽🍴 we got a Baptism coming up next

week on Mother's Day.  His name is Kiondre He is a supper awesome and

smart kid, he is trying to go to Harvard so... 💪🏽 he came to church

and bore his testimony ✊🏽✊🏽

My boy Roman got baptized yesterday, it was such a spiritual

experience. He is one of the most converted people I ever worked with.

I love being on a mission and I love serving the people of these

streets and teaching the homies!

So actually I had this cool miracle happen today. So for the past two

weeks I was trying to get a hold of the missionaries that baptized my

family.But I always forget to ask . So today we were headed to the USC

institute building right by the college and I walk in and look around

and I see this guy but I don't say nothing. " After that I look at

this map and I say look my home Houston" and this guy calls me by my

first name and said "Kane" I turned around I was like "Elder Beck ?"

He was like "I Baptized your Family" I almost cried! It was so awesome

to see the missionary who changed my life, now I'm on a mission,

Changing other people's life. He is a student at USC going to dentist

School and he is moving to San Diego Next week because he is

graduating. It was literally I was going to meet him now or never. I

love being on the mission ! A lot of huge tender mercies are shown to

me every day. We took a pic as well

So this week has been interesting.... there has been moments this week

where I just wanna say Skr Skr... but shout outs must come first !!

1st shout out goes to my boy John for being baptized yesterday

2nd  Shout out goes  to my boy Elder Altamirano for having his last

pday today !.... bro don't have too much fun in Canada 🇨🇦, I'll try

to visit you in the 6 one day

3rd shout out  goes to all the missionaries in the land down undah

(Australia) especially Elder Simons... bro I can't wait to shred some

gnar with you in Draper! 🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽

4th goes to Mavi for the mission call Mavi that's so awesome You are

coming the CLAM!!! We are definitely gonna hang out on a Pday

Yeah so this week has been pretty interesting. So my first Skr Skr

moment happened on Tuesday,  we were out talking to people and we

started to talk to this little Pakistani lady 🇵🇰and we were talking

about religion, and some of our differences and some of our common

ground. And we were like "can we come and share a lesson with you" and

she was like "Sure". And we gave her a pamphlet and said "could you

read this" well we start to walk away and the lady is like " let me

get you something" so we are like ok 👌🏽 some water  💧💧. This lady

comes back and gives us a Qumran. I've never dropped something so fast

in my life when she gave it to me.. I was like no 👐🏽🤚🏽

🙅🏼🙅🏼🙅🏼, then we try to leave🏃🏿 , and she was like promise me

you'll read it.... nah fam.  She was supper nice though !

Also on Tuesday night we were able to set a baptismal date with our

investigators Philly... he is 21 Supper awesome funny  kid, but he has

to get married and stop drinking ❌🚫🚫❌ 🍹 ✋

So We set the date for the 4th of June so we have some to work with him!

On Wednesday we got a text from our boy Roman saying that he doesn't

want to meet with us anymore, so we stopped by to figure out what his

concern was, and it was on tithing. So we got all those matters

figured out. But then on Friday, he calls us and I ask how he was

doing with smoking no cigarettes and he told us that he smoked 1 at

work, he went  a week without smoking cigarettes so that made us

supper sad to see him give into temptation!

My next Skr Skr moment happened  on the way to an appointment we saw

this cop 👮🏽and I was like let's go tell him to check out Mormon.org

( All cops that I have talked to speak to us with supper high respect

because we are doing the work of the lord, and they are all supper

nice, we respect their authority and they respect ours ) well this guy

I guess was talking to his girlfriend and got supper offended that we

tried to talk with him and told us to get out his face. This guy

wasn't even a real cop, this guy looked like he patrolled the mall

parking lot on Thursday nights in Palos Verdes and hated his job . But

I respected his authority ✊🏽 and turned the other cheek like Jesus

taught! So after I got disrespected/humiliated ,I was not the happiest

camper , so we were walking to our next appointment and I heard

someone banging that 2pac (Because that's what people do here in LA ,

they put their music on blast and roll down the windows, I have

basically heard Kendrick Lamars new album, and future . )the lyrics

said "keep ya head up".... I thought that was supper amazing!

Then my Skr Skr  senses started to tingle on Friday as we were

walking to one of our appointments and we see some people hotboxing so

we just pass and I see someone signal in the car so I just pass by,

but on the way back to our car they roll down the window and was like

" Aye you tryna hit" , as soon as she rolled it was like a fog machine

that got hooked up to her car! "We were like nahh"  then she was

acting all ghetto... My comp from Utah has no idea what's going on...

but we had interesting conversation with those people

Yo I was so stoked to see john get Baptized! And she see Mavi.... I

mean sister Ontiveros come to the CLAM!! I know the church is supper

true! I am so glad to be serving Gods son! I love it out here ❤️❤️!

Oh BTW I'm got transferred to the HP Zone, I'm in south central so

that's live 🔫🔫🔫
